One of our missions here at Mid-TN Pets Magazine is to promote the adoption of our region’s homeless pets. Local rescues and shelters are overrun with animals looking their forever home and no matter what breed, personality, size, or temperament you seek, there is a pet of every kind available out there just waiting for you. For these fur babies, our local rescues provide the care these animals need until someone comes along and offers them a second chance at a happy, loving, and safe life. This month we want to introduce you to one of these great groups – Ripple’s Rescue.

Bases in Hilham, TN, Ripple’s Rescue originated in October 2023 when Jessica Clark learned of a boxer in KY that was going to be euthanized because the owner couldn’t use him for breeding due to a heart murmur. Jessica drove five hours round-trip to save Brock and this experience made her realize this was what she wanted to do with her life– save dogs. A few months later, Ripple’s Rescue was officially launched and in the next year 80 dogs were saved and placed in loving homes through the rescue’s efforts.
Its mission is to save and improve the lives of homeless animals by providing quality care and compassion through adoption and education in the Upper Cumberland, TN region. Their focus is on dogs that are in need of immediate care, removing them from unsafe situations and providing them with food, shelter, preventatives, spay/neuter services, and most importantly, love.

Raising funds is critical to continuing the good work that Ripple’s is doing. It’s a never ending task; for every adopted pet, more animals come in needing vet care, food, love, and attention. Aside from the cost of day-to-day care for the animals, the all-volunteer group is aiming to build its own shelter. Getting creative with fundraising has allowed Ripple’s to purse this goal with yard sales and their annual Egg Your Yard spring fundraiser. If you are in the area, be on the lookout for their upcoming scheduled events- Falloween pet photos and Photos with Santa, both at P.S Paws Pet Bakery.

In addition to building their own brand new shelter, Ripple’s Rescue continues to seek volunteers and funds to continue enhancing the lives of the dogs at their rescue with training, walks, socialization, etc. If you would like to get involved or want to check out their upcoming events and adoption days at Petsmart and P.S.
